“Por Una Mujer” is the fourth single off The Braided Janes’ forthcoming album, “Renacer" and features Keyboards by Andrés Álvarez (Aterciopelados, Bomba Estereo) and Electric Guitar by Christian Castagno who co-produced the album with The Braided Janes.
With vibrant rhythms and poignant lyrics, “Por Una Mujer” is a bold and assertive anthem dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community. The song is very personal for the acclaimed band, as its story was inspired by the tremendous unconditional love between The Braided Janes’ singer-songwriter Jessica Rodriguez and her wife, drummer Juny Alvarez, who were married in July 2017, just two weeks after same-sex marriage was made legal in the United States.
“I wanted to write a song that celebrates who we are and how liberating it is when you love who you love freely. In a country where our human rights continue to be under attack, I wanted to shout to the world that whatever happens we won’t give up because true love has no limits,” singer songwriter Museica shares. “I dedicate it to my beloved wife and it all of those who have fought for us to get here.
Love is love, we continue the fight.”
A peaceful and tranquil piece of sonic art, “Paraíso” speaks to the magical places and moments we encounter in life that forever leave lasting impressions on our hearts. The transcendent sensations that arise from these special experiences are perfectly captured in the song’s enthralling arrangement, which was born at the hands of the band’s vocalist and songwriter, Jessica Rodriguez, in front of the ocean in Maui Hawaii during a family trip that had been postponed due to the pandemic, and was built on gentle, airy rhythms and melodies that embody the medicinal ocean breeze.
“It was surreal to be in such a peaceful place after a year full of uncertainty, a moment of serenity and healing among nature. We wanted to capture it somehow to share it with those who are looking for that inner peace that sometimes only music can give us,” Rodriguez shares.
“Paraíso” is the third single to be released from the band’s upcoming second studio album “Renacer,”
“Mi Canto” is the second single off The Braided Janes’ forthcoming album, “Renacer" recorded at Sonido Selva, studio of Grammy-award winning producer Christian Castagno (Iggy Pop, Bomba Estéreo, Arcade Fire, Systema Solar, The Tom Tom Club) in Minca, Colombia.
Influenced by sounds around the world "Mi Canto" tells the story of how singer, songwriter Jessica Rodriguez likes to write music and what she's learned in the process of discovering her sound. The song attempts to capture the magic of the bands improvisational songwriting so as to invite the listener to be a part of the process.
“No Puedo Más” is the first single off The Braided Janes’ second album, “Renacer." It's an upbeat, poetic tribute to those missing from our lives - a feeling shared by many during these past two years. Though the song has a personal meaning to singer, songwriter Jessica Rodriguez, the lyrics are distinctively enigmatic, and invite each listener to connect with its meaning in their own personal way.
From the moment you click play, “No Puedo Más” transports you to another place, where the sounds of birds and cascades of water can be heard in the distance, evoking a sense of liberty and nostalgia. You will hear subtle hints of cumbia and reggaeton woven into this Latin Pop anthem. And although the lyrics are in Spanish, the composition translates beyond language, and genres, with a memorable chorus that instantly moves you and will not soon leave your mind.
